Levels 1 & 2 feature single line melodies in a folk-style in the keys of C Major, F major and D Minor

Level 3

Folk-style songs, character pieces, and transcriptions of classical music. Single line melodies with occasional harmonic intervals and or or chord fills in 1st position.  Keys: G major, Bb major, D minor and A minor.

Level 4

Original folk-style songs, longer character pieces and more transcriptions of classical music. Beginner chord solos and finger-style solos. Expanded use of fretboard. Hammer-ons and pull-offs. More keys and time signatures.

Level 5 & 6: Chord solos, finger-style solos. Major and minor keys. Use of modes. More complicated rhythms. Longer character pieces in contemporary "art-music" styles. Transcriptions of classical and traditional repertoire from around the world, including Hawaii.
